Audience Member British juvenile delinquent picture is not exactly "High School Hellcats" or "The Violent Years" with pretty, innocent Jill Ireland sent to a girls prison for a crime she didn't commit. It's a pretty typical juvenile delinquent film, but the British setting sets it apart, with everyone appearing much more proper than the usual Dead End Kid behavior you usually see in these sorts of film. Nothing brilliant, but it's entertaining enough of a story to see Ireland learn the ropes of prison and work to clear her name. I can't say it is a good movie, however. In fact it is pretty bad. Jill Ireland plays Ann, a wholesome teenager, who is only worried about boys and clothes. Her life takes a drastic change, however, when she is framed for a jewelry buglery. She is sent to a home for girls. There she clashes with the other girls and butts heads with the tyranical Miss Smith (Ellen Pollack), the reformatory guard. The depiction of wild, rebellious girls is very comical. It's all very tame in todays standards. Still Jill Ireland is certainly an appealing young actress.
