Iam U A MUST SEE movie on many levels - but very disturbing because it proves that Kurt Cobain was indeed murdered, and it's clear the local authorities have no intention of investigating it properly or prosecuting the guilty parties (and I say guilty parties, plural, because this well-made doc's evidence makes it clear that although there was one likely mastermind, there were accessories as well). Might I offer my own observation, based upon one fact brought out by the movie - the fact that Kurt's left hand was found gripping the barrel of the shotgun used to finish him off?: The murderer made a mistake in arranging that because Kurt was a lefty and no lefty would shoot himself by pulling the trigger with his right hand. This doc is not just for Nirvana fans, but also for those who believe in justice and are upset when murderers get away with their evil deeds. This movie screams for a new investigation - preferably by the Feds, because the local authorities are either incompetent, corrupt, or they've been co-opted. Kurt's murderers MUST be prosecuted! This is a crying outrage! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/23 Full Review Jon W This movie makes some interesting ideas about Cobain and his death. it is entertainment and is meant to make us talk and question Courtney love and the police. to some degree, even i at some point in the film i thought that he may have been murdered, no one knows what truly happened to Kurt Cobain, it is fun to make films, and guess it seems. in the end, we get little new info on what may of occurred that day but any fan of Cobain's will find this worth a watch if just for the curiosity factor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review spook s We always knew what happened to Kurt. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review R B A must watch. Lots of interesting information. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/13/23 Full Review Meghan K Great documentary, I already knew about the case and the recordings Tom Grant had. Great re-enactments. I like the way they went with that, instead of the viewers just listening to the recordings. The directors had the actors script what Tom Grant recorded. Tom Grant has a compelling case, and once I saw that top forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht questioned Suicide, it made me more of a believer in Mr. Grant's case. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Kathryn A I went into the film not having an opinion but the compelling tapes and audio recordings of Courtney loved paired with the re-enactments convinced me of her selfishness and her guilt. Super interesting perspective, makes me want to bother SPD to reopen the case. Might make the citizens here actually trust them again…. Dennis Harvey Variety The inclination to dismiss this as fanciful conspiracy theorizing is here countered by the testimonies of various experts, certain that the Seattle police really bungled their investigation. Jul 2, 2015 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter By the time Wecht declares that this is a death that simply has to be reinvestigated, even a viewer with no special attachment to Cobain's legacy is likely to agree. Jun 12, 2015 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com This is a bad film, filled with awkward reenactments, poorly designed graphics, scripted interview segments, ominous music and enough jumping to conclusions that I'm surprised someone didn't throw out their back. Rated: 1.5/4 Jun 12, 2015 Full Review Kurt Loder Reason Online The story is still provocative, but the director has nothing new to add to it. Jun 19, 2015 Full Review Oktay Ege Kozak The Playlist If you're a rabid Cobain murder theorist, "Soaked in Bleach" will undoubtedly reconfirm all of your beliefs on the subject. If you're also certain that Cobain killed himself, I doubt that there's anything here to truly convince you otherwise. Rated: C+ Jun 16, 2015 Full Review Colin Biggs Movie Mezzanine ...even if Soaked in Bleach's message landed on sympathetic ears, the film makes curious decisions that distract from their central thesis.
