Sheri Linden The Hollywood Reporter 03/12/2018
Neither celebrating nor bemoaning its subject, it gazes head-on at the ways some people embrace the chance to live life as a nonstop popularity contest while others are hurt by it. Go to Full Review
Joe O'Connell Austin Chronicle 03/12/2018
Emma's story strays a tad toward Dateline episode fodder, but the intercutting of the three plots combined with stunning cinematography keeps the doc's engine chugging forward. Go to Full Review

Social Animals offers us a personal look into the reality of the fantasy if we're bold enough for the task. No matter how you feel, Facebook is betting you play the game...whether you like to or not. Go to Full Review

See more 04/27/2019 Well made doc about instagram. Fails to grab my heart though. See more 04/13/2019 Mostly fulfilled its potential scope with leaving out further impactful connections due to couple unanswered questions raised in the duration, but this little documentary pretty much, in a surprisingly persuasive effect by valuable insight, covers enough ground in singly thoroughness from enforcing pros to expected cons with captivating exemplification. While a less careful documentary might simply treat these stories as utterly sensational and provocative, what's on display here instead is greater curiosity about changing norms than more stereotypical anxieties about generational gaps and alien youth. That said, I did find myself checking my own Instagram before the ending; then again, I doubt the filmmakers or participants would think that much of a problem. See more Read all reviews
