duncan p (Just a disclaimer: this review is based on 180-minute cut, which was broadcast as a miniseries, rather than the 113 minute feature film cut - so there is a pretty big difference in the amount of content). The book is, in essence, a philosophy textbook with a rather odd postmodern framing story, so I wasn't sure what to expect from a film adaptation. Indeed, it wasn't nearly as deep when it came to the philosophical information, and an absolutely literal adaptation would never have worked, but it does a damn fine job in adapting, and is actually quite entertaining. It doesn't substitute the book by any means, but it's a great supplement that makes the framing story come alive much more. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member If you are going to watch this long (although decent) film, I recommend you read the book instead. Unless you're studying Norwegian and need the listening practice, or you're 12 years old. Me encantó. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
