Nicholas D A very unexpected plot. The scariest part is their total lack of remorse, just the fear of getting caught. That is the real horror. That’s all the positivity I can muster- this was truly a miserable experience, one I have no intention on revisiting. The worst thing a movie can do to me is make me stop caring. Throughout the movie, I knew it was a thriller. And after the strong opening, with the six women outing themselves as bigoted monsters, I thought, “Cool. Either one’s a decent person who’ll rise above, or they all stumble into a situation that kills them all.” Instead, they proceed to get more and more deranged and monsterous to the point where someone innocent dies. Now, I was watching this on stream with a friend. I almost dropped out. The worst thing a movie can do to me is make me stop caring. And that was the point where the movie did just that. I disconnected extremely hard, like, “Are these people going to get ANY justice? Any comeuppance? …No? Okay, I’m done.” And I tuned everything else out from that point on. I wish the director well, I wish the actors well, but my time would have been better spent watching the Garbage Pail Kids movie. It is either some kind of targeted attack from the types of people that don't want the way that these ideals creep into the mainstream, to be recognized. Or, people are just too dense to understand and appreciate the horror and slippery slope that these kinds of ideas manifest into, and the acts of violence that can come from them. It is shot in a handheld manner, made to look like one take, similarly to Silent House starring Lizzie Olsen. This part of the movie is exceptional. I really liked the personal aspect of following the footsteps of these characters, as if I was a part of the night. If you've seen the movie, what I just said sounds horrible, but I thought it was intriguing yet also disgusting. The characters are all deplorable, and there is not really a conclusive ending, but I don't mind it. It's a captured series of events, and the director chose to end the movie once those events are over. It was a challenging movie. It had a strong indie vibe to it, and I couldn't help but appreciate the artistry behind the film. I do sort of wish to have seen some consequences, but I also liked thinking about it afterwards, and making conclusions by myself. Thank you!
