Ed Travis Cinapse The only real appeal is the silliness of the premise, the stereotypes depicted in blatant ways, and the distasteful language and violence sprinkled throughout. Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Austin Trunick Under the Radar Half violent war film, half after-school hood drama, Soldier Boyz is such an insane mixture of genres that it's hard to look away from. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Audience Member classic worth watching Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member The American Ninja, Michael Dudikoff, is back, although not as a ninja in this weak made-for-TV action film. Instead, he plays an ex-Marine hired by a wealthy businessman to rescue his kidnapped daughter from Vietnamese bandits. Vietnam films were pretty played out by the time this films was made, so I'm not quite sure why this was a story that needed to be told, especially since essentially same story was told much better in the 1983 John Milius produced "Uncommon Valor" (which incidentally Dudikoff had a brief non-speaking role). Dudikoff assembles his own Dirty Dozen out of a bunch of criminals and reprobates to carry out their predictable and dull mission. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, an actor too good for this tripe, does as much as he can with his ridiculous villain role as the bandit leader. Overall, this is a pretty low rent Vietnam themed action film that's about 10 years too late. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This FUBAR, DIRTY DOZEN ripoff is the dumbest movie I've seen in a looong time (and that's saying alot). Every scene, the logic, the dialog, completely retarded. I did however, like the look of the film, but that's it. Just horrible. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member "Soldier Boyz" is one of those movies that takes itself so seriously, but it ends up so bad that it feels more like a comedy than anything else. It's great fun for any fan of crap-tastic titles. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member 20%. Empty headed script of video game monotony of shoot'mup.
