Whelan Barzey Time Out If anything, Soul is guilty of over-ambition. The wizardry and wit are there, but it lacks Pixar’s usual deftness in making complex themes sing for youngsters. Rated: 3/5 Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian What follows is an absolute delight. It will make any viewer cherish the life they have and want to live it more fully, every single day, ideally with lots of laughs along the way. Rated: 4/5 Feb 13, 2021 Full Review Kambole Campbell Hyperallergic It shortchanges itself at every turn by overextending itself. Feb 8, 2021 Full Review Francesca Steele iNews.co.uk It is a little scattergun in its approach, and the ontology may be a bit much for kids, but even they will relate to its message about appreciating life’s smaller pleasures, which this year feels like a good one. Rated: 4/5 Dec 10, 2024 Full Review Diana Tuova Spotlight on Film A hectic, but wonderful celebration of life, and a moving animated ode to New York City’s jazz scene. Rated: 4/5 Aug 23, 2024 Full Review Gautam Sunder The Hindu The studio’s first feature to frontline black characters is a stunning work of animation, with an important message to kids and adults alike. Daniel S Though definitely more aimed at adults, Soul truly taps into the feelings associated with passion. Maybe I’m biased as a professional trombonist and music educator, but it really hit the nail on the head for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Loh Y "I wanna live every minute of it".It is pure inspirational. Spark is not the purpose of why we living, our purpose of living is to find our spark. Amazing, just wonderful Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review Abraham S I don't understand slot of the hate for soul because. This movie is amazing! This movie is very emotional and has great music! And not to mention how good the animation looks. My god its beautiful! But yeah really good movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review Eric S Probably the best pixar movie I've ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Blu B All Time Classic. This deserves to stand right with the apex greats of Pixar with Up, Wall-E, Coco, and the Toy Story Trilogy. The pacing and structure is so unique. It starts as a movie about a normal guy who gets his shot at a dream of music. Than it becomes a fantasy flick, a fish out of water buddy comedy, and something really unique and insightful by the end. I really can't think of something else like it. It keeps you guessing the entire time. Everything is masterfully done. A universal truth and insight at it's core. The spark is just the start. The animation is just gorgous...absolutely gorgous and difficult to describe. It's amazing. The soundtrakc is so unique as well. And 22 & Joe are amazing together. Everyone should give this a try once and be inspired to make everyday count. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/07/25 Full Review Rose G. Honestly surprised but not as good as other Pixar movies Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Read all reviews
