The consistency isn't always smooth, but Sound of Violence's blend of character study and horror marks writer-director Alex Noyer as an ambitious, visually distinctive filmmaker.

Avindu G A brand new world of an ecstatic existence that feeds on veils of viewer's reality. Movie travles to the darkest corners of a broken mind helpless and dependent on sparks of stimuli. Though Jasmine's performance was adequate in portraying the killer ecstasy it lacked emotions of insanity or maybe the story was cut short too early. Alexa's character seemed hardly capable to equip advanced techniques too. Beside such flaws it's a great attempt to literally paint a picture of what make the Alexas tick. Therefore in that regard Sound of Violence is a special project that has achieved mapping a special mind. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review tiina l Had lots of fun with it and while it may be 3.5-4 stars, I'm just a Jasmin Savoy Brown fan now. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Criminally dumb & unintentionally humorous. To begin, I'm not sure what message was trying to be relayed to the viewer through a paper-thin story, but the film had all the trappings of bad B-movies with moronic character choices. Just with more recent technological advances. Phil Hoad Guardian Remains absolutely faithful to giallo tradition, in taking a crass and borderline ludicrous premise and pushing it to lurid ends. Rated: 3/5 Aug 24, 2021 Full Review Trace Sauveur Austin Chronicle The potential is here, but with Sound of Violence, the blood only runs so deep. Rated: 2/5 Jun 1, 2021 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Alex Noyer is out to shock the hell out of you and he does just that with this hardcore horror outing, which is as original as it is gory. Rated: 2.5/4 May 27, 2021 Full Review Soham Gadre Vague Visages Sound of Violence’s nonchalant depictions of violence, which occur with such obfuscation due to uncoordinated quick-cut editing and color filters, render it a fangless drama with un-engaging sequences of killing and torture. Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Paul Lê Nightmare on Film Street Sound of Violence feels undercooked from a narrative point of view.
