As a story, Space Sweepers isn't as adventurous as its star-navigating protagonists -- but relatable characters and impressive effects keep it from drifting out of orbit.

      Audience Says

Space Sweepers isn't South Korean filmmaking at its most adventurous, but if you're in the mood for a sci-fi movie with action and comedy, look no further.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald The physics-defying spaceship chases and battles are explosive eye-candy, but it's the well-written characters that are always to the fore. Mar 10, 2021 Full Review Karen Han Slate Fun, with colorful performances and impressive CGI, and a worthy substitute for a new Star Wars or Marvel movie. Feb 19, 2021 Full Review Kambole Campbell Polygon The interplay between these characters is the film's saving grace, and the reason it's still mostly a joy to watch. Feb 9, 2021 Full Review Jae-Ha Kim Jae-Ha Kim “Space Sweepers” has a lot of things going for it — great acting, cinematography, special effects. Jun 6, 2021 Full Review Charles Mudede The Stranger (Seattle, WA) Maintains a fast pace, includes plot twists and turns that are not always easy to track, features lots of explosions, lots of robots, and that raw examination of capitalist class structures we have come to expect from the best of South Korea's directors Mar 11, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Yana I Watched this back in 2021 when it came out! Has been stuck in my mind ever since, such a great movie! The fantasy, the sci-fi, the comfort, it's really awesome! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Ashley M A wonderfully well written action packed space story that never has a dull moment and tugs at the heart strings all at once. Song Joong-ki is incredible as always, as is Richard Armitage and their fellow cast mates. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Vitezslav K The first minutes were interesting, a few more minutes bad, and then, strangely enough, quite an exciting film, I recommend it for sci-fi lovers Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Cyril D A sweet and sour korean sci fi film exploring the power of consortiums. Love the character design and evolution during the movie. Had more fun watching this than the entire last star wars trilogy. This movie has a taste of Cowboy Bebop (even tho the OST is far inferior ^^). Go watch it Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/19/23 Full Review artem o Heartwarming movie. Love all actors and their performances. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review insert name h Well at least Korea is still capable of making a great movie.
