Emilie Black Cinema Crazed ... a fun romp through the stars... Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 6, 2024 Full Review Josiah Teal Film Threat Noticeable issues with characters and pacing diminish some of the bigger plot reveals and, most of all, the fun. Rated: 5/10 May 16, 2023 Full Review Joel Fisher Battle Royale With Cheese What could have been a sly parody turns into something that takes itself far more seriously than it should. Taking a production with the budget of an average episode of Red Dwarf, it just lacks any originality or wit. May 5, 2023 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files Weak special effects should be the death kneel for any sci-fi film. Deepstar somehow still manages to be an effective low-budget genre entry thanks to its cast, ambitious story and commitment to making a fun adventure. Rated: 7/10 May 2, 2023 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT While some scenes are a little too close to their inspiration, Space Wars has its own story to tell. A tighter pl.ot would have allowed for stronger characters and more impactful emotional moments, but it is a fine watch for science-fiction fans. Apr 18, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Ben D It feels mean reviewing this movie. At first, I thought it would be a fun, low-budget sci-fi. Then, I thought I may have stumbled upon a low-budget sci-fi satire. In the end, it’s neither of these and is just a really, really bad movie. I could get over poor effects. In fact, there’s a certain charm to cheesy sci-fi effects when accompanied by a good story and characters. But the writing and dialogue is atrocious. Some of the lines don’t even make sense. Michael Paré as Kip has the look of a lead actor and rugged spaceship captain (think a poor man’s Thomas Haden Church), but is one of many storylines and barely leaves the cockpit the entire movie. The trailer for this one did me dirty. Although I figured it wouldn’t have the highest budget, the concept of “downloading someone’s soul and uploading them onto a human/android hybrid” (a concept I’ve explored in my own writing) hooked me. The movie is like… barely about that. I’m happy that actors, writers, and crew were compensated to pay their rent and mortgages, but this is the worst movie I’ve seen since The Vatican Tapes (36) — unfortunately, Michael Paré was in that one too. It isn’t fun and doesn’t even approach a “so bad it’s good” piece of art. No one needs to see this. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Sparky B It's yer typical Space Opera. There's a little bit from all the past faves: Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Farscape, et.al. Is this a pilot for another TV series? You're not gonna see anything new here...but you will be entertained. Nuthin' like a good ol' space romp to satisfy your craving for popcorn and a BigGulp®. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Aaron S Super fun, well-paced genre flick. The budget really punches above its weight with better acting, FX, and music than you might expect. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review Amanda L My husband and I got about 20 minutes in laughing pretty much the whole time. Only two, at best, of the characters could actually act. Special effects were, let's say, interesting and the plot was so basic and obvious. Most of the girls were poorly dressed and the rest of the movie, I'm not sure as we didn't get that far. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/23 Full Review Arthur W An engaging film, skillfully directed by Garon Setain. The casting is spot-on, with each actor delivering a stellar performance. Despite its modest budget, this sci-fi movie is impressively crafted, making it worth multiple viewings to fully appreciate its nuances. With its arrival, it feels like summer has come ahead of schedule, offering a light-hearted, entertaining experience ideal for those relaxed, enjoyable evenings that lie ahead. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Gordon W For sure this is reviving the essence of classic sci-fi cinema, offering a nostalgic throwback to the 90s. It captures the excitement and anticipation that fans used to feel when going to blockbuster movies in that era, bringing that same vibe to contemporary audiences in 2023 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
