It's 2015, Earth is overcrowded and a crew of married couples is put aboard a spaceship commanded by the tyrannical Capt. Mead (Bill Williams), and ordered to explore a distant, possibly habitable planet. But the journey will take more than two decades, and, when passenger Dr. Helen Thomas (Linda Marlowe) falls seriously ill, Mead refuses to fly her back to Earth for treatment. Helen kills herself, and her husband, Steven (John Cairney), leads the other passengers in a revolt against Mead.
