When the planet Mongo threatens to collide with Earth, athlete Flash Gordon and pretty damsel Dale Arden join scientist Dr. Alexis Zarkov on a trip to the strange planet. When they arrive at Mongo, they meet the planet's malevolent emperor, Ming the Merciless, who is intent on destroying Earth. Ming's daughter, Princess Aura, on the other hand, grows rather fond of the hunky Flash.
