Wil A Funny and charming early film from gay auteur Darren Stein. (Jawbreaker,GBF) the women steal the show with career high performances from Veronica Cartwright, Park Overall, Grace Zabriskie and Sandy Martin. A true gem. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I have never understood why this film failed to connect with audiences or critics. This is a great directorial debut that is well acted and carries a twisted heart. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A stylish and highly underrated independent film. Park Overall is amazing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked the movie.(: I love the 3 guys there's so adorable in this movie. I miss seing them. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is so hard to find! It's quite a treasure. A good movie featuring Park Overall and Freddie Prinze Jr. It has a good GLBT theme too. I like it because it shows the rougher side of Vegas and the desert between. Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times Overall and Cartwright are especially winning, and Cartwright makes Dottie appealing in the vulnerability and longing that lurks beneath her hard, painted and bewigged surface. “Sparkler” lives up to its name. Jan 18, 2023 Full Review Brendan Kelly Variety An often funny, always captivating ride through the kitschy underbelly of life on the road to Vegas. Jan 18, 2023 Full Review Entertainment Weekly Rated: D Mar 19, 1999 Full Review Cass Clarke Slashfilm "Sparkler" serves us with slice-of-life queer acceptance, camp, and curiosity. Jan 27, 2023 Full Review TV Guide Staff TV Guide With its heart on its sleeve and not much on its mind, Darren Stein's uneven comedy floats along on a few good laughs and a certain goofy charm. Jan 18, 2023 Full Review Joe Lipsett Queer.Horror.Movies. Sparkler dazzles thanks to earnest performances, offbeat comedy, and surprisingly complex emotional beats.
