      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Spice World's lack of cohesive plot will likely lose most viewers, but for fans of the titular girl group there's more than enough fun to be had in their wacky -- albeit superficial -- whirlwind of an adventure.

Tim W I was unsure how Spice World could even compare to a movie like Stuart Little 2. I had my doubts but came into this viewing experience with an open mind. As I leaned into a lovesac with my partner, right from the opening credits, my jaw fell to the floor. I was mesmerized. I knew I was in for one of the most brilliant and entertaining performances of modern cinema. Bravo, 100% fresh. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Owen H It's a spice girl movie. Stop expecting so much. It had them, their music and it was colourful and funny. All you could really ask for really. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/24 Full Review Julie R It's a goofy movie! Hardly a plot at all, but if your a long time fan. You don't need one. It's goofy fun in a world of chaos Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Derek L I get the fact that the Spice Girls were such a massive icon during the 90's, however Spice World was an absolute trainwreck with poor writing and a messy plot and bland script that makes very little sense from beginning to end. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/23 Full Review Ryan M If you grew up as a fan of the Spice Girls, you will thoroughly enjoyed this movie for the satirical but intimate sugar rush that it is. Even if you weren't a Spice Girls fan but grew up in the era of pop music existing as a money making machine in the late 90s, you will appreciate this film for it's self awareness as it parodies this. This film is a fever dream, complete with alien abduction, that represents the chaotic life of being the world's biggest girl group in an age on the cusp of social media - yet distinctly before it existed. I don't think there will ever be the same degree of pandemonium around a girl group like there was the Spice Girls. And for that - this movie exists as a relic of that era not to be forgotten about. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/10/23 Full Review Bunny T One word: nostalgia. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mike Clark USA Today Can the Spice Girls act beyond their assigned personas? World doesn't stop spinning long enough to answer. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 9, 2018 Full Review Paul Tatara CNN.com "What's the plot?" you may be asking. Well so am I. Jun 21, 2016 Full Review Lisa Alspector Chicago Reader A promotional tool that establishes its superfluousness simply by existing, this clumsy, smirking movie has a bitter soul. Jun 21, 2016 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight The girls themselves sometimes have a chemistry, but are normally annoying paper-thin characters, but still quite fun. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 7, 2023 Full Review Joe Lipsett Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr Podcast The film would do well to trust the girls, who have great fun playing caricatures, rather than padding the film with a series of unconnected cameos. The result is a madcap, but often overwhelming comedy. Rated: 2/5 Dec 22, 2022 Full Review Chase Burns The Stranger (Seattle, WA) I was struck by how well it stands up-the pacing is better than you'd expect-and also how fantastical it is...
