Carlos Aguilar Remezcla Polished in a serviceable manner, Spider has a studio feel. Dec 6, 2019 Full Review Jonathan Holland Hollywood Reporter This elegantly told tale of the diverging fates of a gang of right-wing radicals in the pre-coup d'état Chile of the early 70s is both as human and as political in its concerns as you'd expect from Wood. Sep 7, 2019 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia It splendidly captures a fragment of the political history of Chile, but it doesn't provoke me even the remotest emotion with its hollow characters and its socio-political parable about the nefarious consequences of the far-right. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 5/10 Oct 10, 2020 Full Review Audrey Fox Crooked Marquee Spider works better when it's a period drama about a right-wing rebellion than it does when it's a political thriller; its failure to do both equally well weakens the film, but doesn't necessarily kill it. Jul 8, 2020 Full Review Rolando Gallego EscribiendoCine Wood holds a rhythm that never falters. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 9/10 Feb 27, 2020 Full Review Nazareno Brega Clarín The key, once again in Andrés Wood's filmography, is in Chilean society's classism, an obsession that became more complex and attractive throughout his work. Audience Member Best Chilean movie so far! it's pretty hard to find do. I recommend getting Stan (the Australian version of Netflix) and using a VPN such as NordVPN to be able to watch it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant and scary work by chilean director Andrés Wood about a period that we hope will not return in Latin American countries.
