When a failed nuclear fusion experiment results in an explosion that kills his wife, Dr. Otto Octavius is transformed into Dr. Octopus, a cyborg with deadly metal tentacles. Doc Ock blames Spider-Man for the accident and seeks revenge. Meanwhile, Spidey's alter ego, Peter Parker, faces fading powers and self-doubt. Maybe it has something to do with Sam Raimi's skills as a director, or with Tobey Maguire's very human central performance, but the Spider-Man films are by far the best of the superhero genre.

I'm not the biggest fan of the characterization of Mary Jane in this franchise and Tobey Macquire getting lapped by other actors, I still had a lot of fun watching this, especially with my kids.

Spider-Man 1 showed us how a hero is made. Spider-Man 2 shows you what a hero has to give up, and asks if the cost is worth it. By the end, the answer is a resounding YES. You have to see this movie.
