Audience Member terrible film crap acting , borrows from other better horror films and boring avoid Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Splintered (Simeon Halligan, 2010) You have seen this movie at least a dozen times. Innocent, or maybe not so innocent but she's certainly done nothing to deserve this, girl is abducted by someone or something and imprisoned. There is someone close by who may or may not be able to help her, but is useful for passing information through to the captive (and, by extension, to the viewers). There is a Big Reveal about the killer, and often whether the viewer is left with a good taste in his or her mouth about the movie turns on whether that Big Reveal works. (I'm not sure it did here, I don't think this movie could have been saved one way or the other.) It's a well-established framework that lazy scriptwriters insert characters into for an almost instantly-completed movie. The end result, given that you are using a well-established framework, is utterly predictable and very rarely worth your time. Such is the case with Splintered. * Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Was a cool twist on werewolves but that was about all that was good about this movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Poor story which is frankly a mess with an ending that is tacked on. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible acting, horrible story line, horrible idea, horrible characters. Keep far from this one, it makes no sense. Girl is running around some huge house in the woods while her friend gets eaten. She knocks herself out and wakes up tied to a bed naked...WHY DIDNT SHE GET EATED TOO! I could make a better film with my eyes closed. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A promising set-up concerning a monstrous presence in Wales, Splintered is filmed well but gets boring about 30 minutes in and fails to fully develop its creepiness. A nice try, Splintered is just ultimately disappointing on a fundamental level. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
