Critics Consensus

Spoor stylishly taps into a deep well of anger to deliver an unusual yet largely effective revenge thriller with environmental and feminist overtones.

Ty Burr Boston Globe [I]t's well worth a look. Rated: 3/4 Jan 28, 2021 Full Review Tomris Laffly RogerEbert.com Holland's cinematic mastery ... charges every frame of her misty, mud-ridden and chilly-to-the-touch film with the grandeur and ominous aliveness of the nature that surrounds Duszejko's world. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 23, 2021 Full Review Kristy Puchko Pajiba Spoor is a crime-thriller that sparks with violence and toxic masculinity, yet has a radiant heart thumping at its core. Jan 22, 2021 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Emphasizing atmosphere over plot, this muddled genre hybrid never musters the consistent suspense to match its haunting imagery. Jan 7, 2022 Full Review Alex Saveliev Film Threat Holland's films contain worlds within worlds, and, like the rest of them, Spoor is a marvel to unravel. Rated: 8/10 Feb 11, 2021 Full Review Tom Meek Cambridge Day The cinematography by Jolanta Dylewska and Rafal Paradowski captures the snowy woodlands in stark, aesthetically composed and contrasted frames. Audience Member Whatever you do, please go hug a tree and save a bug's life before you watch this travesty of a movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review bonnie w I really liked this movie. The protagonist, Agnieszka Mandat-Grabka, was wonderful. She really made the audience feel her anguish, anger and then acceptance similar to the stages of grief. Her love and respect for animals in contrast to the attitude of the ruthless hunters and others was so nicely woven into this story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A pretty good murder mystery based in an isolated Polish village close to the Czech border. [ Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Undeniably different with its own typical style and tone, the movie proves to be as visually striking as it can be too much of a slow burn. Navigating between a strange gory thriller and the portrait of an edge of the world community, the film is more a social drama than anything else but does it in its own matter and yet proves to be the work of an author, so kuddos for that...but still can feel hard to sit through. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member "Spoor" kept me engaged from start to finish. Pro tip: watch the movie in its original language with subtitles. The cast - especially Agnieszka Mandat - are phenomenal when heard with their own voices. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member A strange film with some odd characters that keeps you waiting for a resolution which it never quite delivers.
