What to Know

Critics Consensus

Focusing on Bruce Springsteen's lowest emotional ebb, this brooding biopic too often feels like the B-sides from an extraordinary career but benefits from Jeremy Allen White and Jeremy Strong's stellar performances.

It's the kind of biopic I often really like where it's not trying to encompass the entirety of a famous person's life but takes a pivotal segment and examines that. Go to Full Review

Its greatest strength is the intimate chemistry between Springsteen and his manager Jon Landau, but audiences aren’t given enough context to fully appreciate it. Go to Full Review

We are submerged in soggy cliches about a musician’s life. The familiar tropes keep on coming. White, Strong, and the supporting players are good, but everyone is mostly in service to a flat film that ultimately feels dull and derivative. Go to Full Review

Nick 5d A moving experience chronicling a period in the life of one of Americas greatest storytellers. See more Andres C 6d Jeremy Allen White really stood out in his rendition of Bruce Springsteen's early years. He is amazing as "Carmy" in "The Bear," and what he's asked to do in Deliver Me from Nowhere is even more a heavy lift, and he really stands tall, and at the very least should get an Oscar nomination for his performance.
