Christy Lemire Associated Press Rodriguez seems to be trying too hard to cram in too much - more gadgets, more characters, more noise, more color. Jacob A "Do you think God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he's created?" - Steve Buscemi, in this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/25 Full Review Audience Member No matter how old you are when you watch this movie, it will always be a 10 out of 10; not only because of the nostalgia, but because of the whole context that the movie presents to us, Spy Kids 2 is a masterpiece for everyone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/25 Full Review matthias s *Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams* kicks the adventure up a notch, proving to be a step up from its predecessor. The story is more layered this time, with Juni and Carmen Cortez navigating a mysterious island filled with quirky creatures and strange gadgets. The stakes are higher, the gadgets cooler, and the sibling duo's chemistry is as charming as ever. However, the CGI can be a bit wonky, especially when it comes to those fantastical creatures. While it might make adults chuckle (or cringe), kids will likely be too enthralled to notice. The humor is goofy, the action light-hearted, and the overall vibe is pure family fun. In the end, *Spy Kids 2* doesn’t aim for cinematic greatness but delivers an enjoyable ride for its young audience. It’s a solid sequel that entertains without taking itself too seriously. Three stars for this wild, wonky adventure!
