Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member God knows why I chose to watch this, because I'd never heard of it, and all the reviews warned me how bad it was. On the basis that I often like poor films, I gave into temptation and unsurprisingly ....... I quite enjoyed it. It's nothing to shout about, and I guess it's more like an episode of a bog standard soap opera that has a central storyline for one of its villains. In this instance, everyone's favourite doctor, saves a girls life and in the process, develops an obsession with her. Unable to find a suitable partner online, mainly due to his possessive demands and fast moving approach, he targets her instead, justifying his actions by thinking she owes him her life for the operation he performed. As his advances become more obvious, the girl becomes frightened and tries to distance herself from the stalker. Whereas I assumed he was going to turn psychopathic and the film would take a wrong turn into torture porn, his actions never materialise into violence, only threats, given his condition is clearly a mental one. At times it makes you sympathise with his character, except to the point when he fakes her death in an attempt to flee the country with her for good. It is of course an unlikely story but I don't think it fully deserves all the critique it appears to have, given its quite watchable from start to finish. It's no blockbuster, and not brilliantly original, but for me it has no cringeworthy elements either, just a slightly warped concept that would probably win someone an award if it was used within Coronation Street or Eastenders. Eric Roberts.... man. Sometimes you make Star 80, and sometimes you made Stalked by My Doctor, where he has a scene freaking out by the dumpster of a restaurant flailing about yelling IM A DOCTOR IM A DOCTOR!
