Ronak Kotecha The Times of India All in all, there aren't too many dull moments in this sequel to the 2014 hit. It marches on with conviction to tell us a story that remains rooted in love, friendship and childhood innocence even with its futuristic escapades. Shaurya S The film is extremely emotional. Better than the first one because it has more nuance and handles the complexity of Nobita's recklessness with more responsibility (unlike the first one that was problematic at times, especially scenes with Shizuka). It's funnier than the first. Not as gut-wrenching as the first, especially ending-wise, it cannot contest the first film. But the grandmother dynamic really sells the film. Brilliantly expands Nobita's emotional life by focusing on more characters than the first. I've also happened to hear that the third part will focus more on Dorami's character, her relation with Doraemon, and perhaps Dorami's own "Stand by Me" arc, but that's probably just a rumour. Either way, this film sets the tone for so much more to come! It focuses on the friends, on Nobita, Shizuka, Nobita's doubts in himself and his likeability: really well made. There's also a very good suspense factor in this story; not an obvious one, but it has something to do with Nobita and Doraemon coming back to the past to the point in time where the film starts for us and we see these future Nobita-Doraemon in the beginning of the film as well with no idea what's going on, only to follow their journey and see why they came back, so and so. I think you understood that twist. (Also, that was not really a spoiler dw). Other than that, there's some body switching thing between older Nobita and younger Nobita which makes for extremely creatively written moments. That's all from me, go watch it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/07/25 Full Review Iaxier C Buena pelicula entretenida y divertida y la animacion comparada con la primera si mejoro bastante tiene momentos emotivos que te sacaran una lagrima Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/26/25 Full Review Aluna U Stand By Me Doraemon 2 continues the story of Nobita and Shizuka’s future, focusing on Nobita's doubts about his ability to bring happiness to their marriage. While the time-travel plot introduces some logical inconsistencies, the emotional depth and strong message about self-worth and reflection make it a powerful sequel. This film serves as a meaningful conclusion to the Doraemon saga, showing Nobita’s growth into a mature, responsible adult.
