See more 04/24/2015 Stanley Ka Dabba demonstrates how innocent students suffer from unqualified authorities, either teachers or family members, yet presents friendship and love in a touching way. I was moved by the classmates who help Stanley go through his awkward lunch time, but disappointed by his tragic ending. See more 01/11/2013 Refreshing and honest indie film about Stanley and his dabba (lunch box) to come out from India cinema. Story is very original too. Casting was amazing despite most of them being untrained actors. Performances by Partho Gupte (Stanley), Amole Gupte and the supporting cast were extraordinary. Beautiful and accurate portrayal of school life in a boys school in suburban Mumbai. Personally feel this movie by Amol Gupte is better than Taare Zameen Par (which he wrote) that is just a typical Bollywood tear jerker but with an atypical story. See more 12/07/2012 A beautiful and heartfelt film which oozed sincerity, although the 'grumpy' and ridiculously hypocritical teacher was a little over the top. I know it's a popular philosophy that we despise the things in others we struggle with ourselves, but I have found that its often easier to have compassion for those similarities I can relate to.
