The paths of two aspiring actors meet when Amalgamated Pictures talent scout Thomas Brooke (Roland Young) sets out on a cross-country quest to find the next big Hollywood star. Brooke's mission leads him to Arizona, where he recruits football player Bud Borden (John Payne), and then on to Arkansas, where he is impressed by the naive but eager Carolyn Sayres (Linda Darnell). The competition in Hollywood being tough, Bud and Carolyn work together to rise to the top.

12/22/2010 Starstruck girl makes her way to Hollywood, is discovered and becomes a star. Cliched and hackneyed it may be but this was actually a reworking of Linda Darnell's own story. Her's didn't end as happily as this, she actually watched this the night before she died in a fire.
