The team under JJA hit it out of the park once more! I love the aesthetic, the story-writing, and the main character development. The vulnerability and range of emotional responses experienced by Kirk and Spock add a depth to the story that it needs. Whilst the antagonists are solid enough, their is a predictability to them - especially Admiral Marcus

This I think probably the best Star Trek movie, that, or maybe it's predecessor with Christopher pine. All the others for me mostly not worth the effort of watching apart from first contact which is also good. The movie after this 'beyond" started well, but became totally lame once they landed on the planet, that is, for thé majority of the movie, it totally lost its sense of power and scale. This one has only one really bad bit in it which is when Captain Kirk repairs the enterprise warp drive by giving it a good kicking 😁.
