Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones benefits from an increased emphasis on thrilling action, although it's undercut by ponderous plot points and underdeveloped characters.

the edmerald m Just like The Phantom Menace, this has aged quite well. The opening scenes on Coruscant are quite good. But then it splits in two. Anakin & Padme’s romance is some of the worst Star Wars to date (but it’s still better than the Sequel Trilogy). It feels unnatural and forced. But that’s not the fault of Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman. Although sand is coarse, rough and irritating. But what Obi-Wan Kenobi was doing for this whole movie was great. I loved going to Kamino then discovering Geonosis. Which is when the movie gets the strongest. Everything on Geonosis was fantastic. This movie also introduced Count Dooku (or Darth Tyrannus), who is an absolutely phenomenal villain. Overall, this may have a terrible romance side plot, but Obi-Wan’s adventures and everything on Geonosis definitely carry this movie. 6/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review jeff s this is a good movies that's hated on to much Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Jim M he Star Wars movies are the best movie franchise ever made hands down! You will laugh and cry and some times at the same time with strong messages for humanity! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Lasse L Attack of the Clones suffers greatly from wooden dialogue and Lucas' questionable direction. There's still enjoyable stuff in here and the creativity on display is weirdly refreshing in the context of the newer Star Wars projects' lack thereof. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Chanr3y k This movie has some really cheesey dialogue, and although it is more fun than it's prequel, the story telling of the movie can be absolutely ridiculous at points. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Hayden L This movie has to be the biggest disappointment in the live action Star Wars movies. From the bad plot to the cringy dialogue, this movie did not meet my expectations. Even though this movie has to be the worst Skywalker Saga movie, it does have some upsides, such as Yoda and his lightsaber for the first time or meeting Count Dooku, who has to be one of the coolest Star Wars Villains of all time, especially in Clone Wars. Overall, not a great movie, but it sets up the rest of the Star Wars movies so go watch it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Andrew O'Hehir Sight & Sound A forgettable and discontented tale of entropy and corruption, of a grand, idealistic venture that has lost its way. Dec 19, 2019 Full Review Namrata Joshi Outlook Attack of the Clones fails to offer the same brand of unadulterated thrill and excitement as the Star Wars trilogy. Rated: 2/4 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic His characters, as is now his norm, are plastic puppets, even in the confectionary love scenes. Most of their dialogue is so doughy that it could be spooned into comic-strip balloons. Lucas simply has no interest in these people. Apr 11, 2016 Full Review Christian Eulinberg InSession Film I cannot express how terrible and dragged out the pacing of this entry was. It is the weakest episode of the prequel trilogy. Sep 26, 2023 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault The action did less than nothing for me. There’s no sense of awe or terror or grandeur in the imagery. Rated: D Sep 17, 2022 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It advances the stories of its three pivotal characters in meaningful ways. It’s a technical marvel despite some visual overindulgences. Plus it supplied the framework for what was a fantastic television series “The Clone Wars”.
