Set ten years after the events of "The Phantom Menace," the Republic continues to be mired in strife and chaos. A separatist movement encompassing hundreds of planets and powerful corporate alliances poses new threats to the galaxy that even the Jedi cannot stem. These moves, long planned by an as yet unrevealed and powerful force, lead to the beginning of the Clone Wars -- and the beginning of the end of the Republic.

Critics Consensus

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones benefits from an increased emphasis on thrilling action, although it's undercut by ponderous plot points and underdeveloped characters.

The computer-generated effects dazzle, and the story, while complicated in the manner of a comic-book serial, clips along at a decent pace. Go to Full Review

There is much to enjoy in Attack of the Clones... But there's much to regret too, in the way the Star Wars series seems to have ossified. Go to Full Review

One thing you notice about the new Star Wars movie is how people who did little but stand around in the previous story now get up and get down and actually do something. Go to Full Review

satish P @RT38168408 3d absolutely epic thrilling visuals effects with best sound engineering possibly the top class futuristic movie of 21 century, and the all time favorite movie feel so blessed being part of watching this movie with my parents in theatre in 2002 i feel like I'm seeing the future Two thumps up Anakin skywalker flying car chase was the epic scene must watch movie possibly on Big screen See more Noah H. @Noah85 3d My favorite movie from the Star Wars prequel trilogy! To me, this is the best of the prequels because no Jedi dies, and we get to see so many interesting elements from the prequel era. Personally, one of the most fascinating aspects of the film was seeing how the clone troopers are made. The final battle on Geonosis also features some really cool creature designs. Speaking of Geonosis, one of my favorite R2-D2 and C-3PO moments in all of Star Wars happens here: when C-3PO loses his head and accidentally gets a battle droid head attached to his body while his own head ends up on a battle droid. That scene still makes me laugh to this day! Sure, the CGI hasn’t aged perfectly, but people have to remember this movie came out in 2002. They did the best they could for the time. Overall, if you’re looking for a fun Star Wars prequel with a bit of the humorous charm from the original trilogy, I’d say give this one a watch! See more Marlon P. @caramelpopcorn529 4d This movie is start of Anakin skywalker going to the dark side See more Ronan H. @CalebDownsG.O.A.T 4d it’s really good in my opinion Probably one of my favorite Star Wars movies but I actually don’t have a favorite because I Love all of them See more Jaycen D. @JDtheGoat May 5 I actually used to think this was a good movie, but my god does it drag. The biggest problem with this movie is actually Anakin. Idk why but he’s just such a boring character, with bad motives. To me, this is WORSE than Last Jedi & Rise of Skywalker (I will stand by this opinion until the day I die) See more William M @RT61821956 Apr 30 Maybe it doesn't deserve five stars, but this is the film that made me fall in love with the prequel era. It's very colorful with a lot of fun characters, much more akin to the spirit of the originals. I also love the darker tone here, as this is the movie that kicks of the Clone Wars in a spectacular fashion. See more Read all reviews
