Set ten years after the events of "The Phantom Menace," the Republic continues to be mired in strife and chaos. A separatist movement encompassing hundreds of planets and powerful corporate alliances poses new threats to the galaxy that even the Jedi cannot stem. These moves, long planned by an as yet unrevealed and powerful force, lead to the beginning of the Clone Wars -- and the beginning of the end of the Republic.

The computer-generated effects dazzle, and the story, while complicated in the manner of a comic-book serial, clips along at a decent pace. Go to Full Review

As routine as much of "Clones" is, the movie nevertheless does offer its share of impressive, effects-driven sequences. Go to Full Review

Joshua H @SnoopySoup11 19h Rating: 7.7/10 - I've been watching The Clone Wars with my dad, and I kept referencing things from this movie that he couldn't remember, so we decided to rewatch it. It had been about 10 years since I'd seen it, and I remembered it being my least favorite of the prequels. Surprisingly, it was a lot better than I remembered, especially the action. What I didn't remember was how forced Anakin and Padme's relationship felt. I get they only had one movie to go from reunion to marriage, but the dialogue made it hard to buy. Anakin saying he'd thought about her every day for 10 years was a bit much (Your telling me he didn't meet 1 Jedi baddie in the past 10 years). I actually like Hayden Christensen, but George Lucas did him no favors with the writing. The "I hate sand" scene is still rough. Overall though, the movie was good. I might be giving it a little more credit, but that is because I like Star Wars. In addition, I felt like Obi Wan and Count Dooku did very well in this movie. See more Brody H @MrDark007X Jul 9 An intense step up from episode 1, extremely well done cgi, an entirely new world environment, and outstanding choreography. See more Charles S @Coolguy1212 Jul 8 One of the most mid movies of all time. It’s even more of a snooze fest than the previous but does have some great action scenes. See more Tyson D @Spudsprout Jul 6 (Overall Rating: 3.54/5) (Good) --- (Cinematography/Atmosphere: 4/5) Visually and technically better than Phantom Menace, really great job immersing the audience in those ways. --- (Storyline/Plot: 3.25/5) The building of the love story is painful. The start of what is about to happen over the rest of the franchise though feels like it truly begins here. --- (Acting: 3.5/5) Good acting, again hampered by a far from stellar character script though. --- (Character Quality: 3.25/5) Once again, better than the last but there is just so much more potential in these characters. --- (Entertainment Value: 3.75/5) 1st half is a bit of a snoozefest but the second half really picks up, especially the battle sequences and light saber combat. --- (Expectations vs. Reality: 3.5/5) Going into this one you have to wait to get to the good parts. At least the Atmosphere can get you there.
