George Lucas' Star Wars is not a film that readily leads itself to comparisons, so it may as well begin with the superlatives. This captivating science fantasy is the finest pure entertainment to reach the screen in ages. Go to Full Review

Not a great movie in the sense that it describes the human condition. It simply is a fun picture that will appeal to those who enjoy Buck Rogers-style adventures. What places it a sizable cut above the routine is its spectacular visual effects. Go to Full Review
Pete Hamill New York Post Apr 23
This Hamill's name is Mark and we are not related. He plays a kid named Luke Skywalker, who is the classic dumb hero, and he plays that dumbness with terrific conviction. A true family gift. Go to Full Review

The special effects pushed the boundaries of what anyone thought possible in 1977, yet audiences were so swept up in the imagery, the adventure, and the momentum of the journey that they never stopped to marvel at the technological achievement. Go to Full Review
Wayne Harada Honolulu Advertiser Apr 23

Patti C May 27 Best movie ever made! See more Severi L 2d A New Hope is an incredible start for one of the greatest movie trilogies in history. It introduces us the fascinating world of Star Wars, some of the most legendary movie villains and of course the legendary main characters - Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and the droids. The story, the atmosphere - everything is just absolute cinema. See more @KIDCRITIC 5d Watched Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope this year. This movie from the late 70’s is most certainly a hit. A young boy named Luke Skywalker works for his uncle and finds this droid named R2-D2 showing a laser video of a princess and seems to find his master where he learns all about the magic he had and saves the princess while going against a side that is trying to stop him. The story is captivating and the acting has a line of great actors such as Harrison Ford. Overall I would rate this movie a 5.0 stars out of 5 stars. This movie is so fantastic with storyline it just makes you think will there be another one. My favorite scene is when Obi-Wan Kenobi takes that monster's head off in the cantina. I would always recommend this. See more Nick J. @jamdawg96 Dec 24 Star Wars is timeless. It’s inventive, fun, charming and exciting.
