Christy Lemire Breakfast All Day It is trying to accomplish a lot, because it has to tie up every plotline. It has to involve every character. It has to has to take you to every planet... And so, in trying to cram in all of that, it feels very cursory and very rushed. Rated: 5.3/10 Mar 13, 2020 Full Review Angie Han Mashable The real Leia, the one we fell in love with, lives on inside us as she always has. She still inspires us, amuses us, moves us. And we can visit her anytime we want, at the touch of a play button. Dec 27, 2019 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Chesapeake Family Magazine A sizable amount of the narrative of The Rise of Skywalker is spent specifically undoing what happened in The Last Jedi, and the result is a film that lacks forward momentum. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 27, 2019 Full Review Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is a film devoid of progress because progress requires looking ahead. Instead, it gazes longingly into the past, unable to process what to learn from it, and chooses to stay put rather than risk a mistake by moving forward. Rated: 2/5 Jan 4, 2025 Full Review Calum Cooper Movies We Texted About Where its predecessors were spectacular, even bold at times, The Rise of Skywalker is unimaginative and stuck so rigidly in the past that it forgoes an identity of its own. There’s the odd fun moment, but utterly no chutzpah. Rated: 2/5 Dec 10, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …the call-backs to personnel, themes and scenes all create some genuine connection to a beloved universe, and for some, that will be enough. But in terms of plot and character, the third Star Wars trilogy has been a misbegotten disaster…. Rated: 2/5 Nov 29, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Megan V It took 3 movies but they finally found the plot of the trilogy. Would have been great if this plot (that was supposed to be building the whole trilogy) was hinted at in ANY of the other two movies, but at least the writers finally did something remotely interesting. Because of the interesting plot twist, this movie wasn’t as bad as the previous two, but becuase it lacked any build up, it was still pretty flimsy. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review Gregory S This is better than the last one, but it couldn’t have gotten much worse. I just do not agree with the direction of the characters. A lot of cringe moments Please get someone else in charge of Star Wars projects. Please Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Tom Multitudes of insultingly dumb storylines, lazy set pieces, awful dialogue and bad writing made this my dark horse guilty pleasure of the Rey trilogy. It was so bad, I found myself laughing uncontrollably as several scenes unfolded. The unintentional comedy on display was B movie gold. I noticed more than a few other theater goers doing the same. It’s very fitting I suppose, Star Wars has earned its reputation as the laughing stock of all franchises. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Doron G Kylo carries the trilogy Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Mike F Not a terrible film, but as the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, this film leaves a lot to be desired. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/23/24 Full Review Wayne Have to see it of course. At least there’s no Jat Jar in it Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
