k m Incredibly realistic film with amazing acting; emotional, touching and a huge eye opener to the effects of this horrific condition. Cinematography excellent. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Marina H I absolutely loved the movie. It's a heartbreaking story based on true life events of a couple … I thought the performances were outstanding … if you think you have problems , this movie might just change your perspective on things … Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/22 Full Review Audience Member This has got to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen! There is really no reason for it to exist. The acting is fair to poor, and the subject matter tries to be inspiring, but really it simply is depressing! A struggling family due to an unfortunate medical experience is not enough to develop plot, and this movie has very little plot ! It is difficult to watch, but if there were redeeming moments where as a viewer, we could sit back and say, "yeah … I get it! There really is a point to this struggle" … but there is not. As far as i am concerned, the whole thing is a waste of time and energy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review corkball Interesting family drama about what happens when the dad is horribly disfigured. Pretty well done, and tugs on the heartstrings. Of course, once past the initial hospitalization, it is predictable and trite, although how much crying can you pack in a single movie? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A good movie that everyone should see Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Couldn’t finish it. Had no interest in anything going on. Was interesting for 20 mins. Acting is good, I liked the music, but the movie itself is so tedious and slow. Confusing to be confusing Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/14/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Nigel Andrews Financial Times Froggatt is superb: a woman finding the good in her heart, painfully and tearfully, because that's the only way to fight the instincts of pitying revulsion counselled by the bad in her heart. Rated: 3/5 Mar 19, 2020 Full Review David Parkinson Empire Magazine Depicting a courageous fight back with compassion and sincerity, this capably played drama has its heart firmly in the right place. Rated: 3/5 Nov 2, 2016 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) A tale of endurance that is explored intimately but somewhat prosaically, this is probably better suited to television than cinema. Rated: 2/5 Oct 30, 2016 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media Intense British drama about a family dealing with illness. Rated: 2/5 Dec 16, 2020 Full Review Chloe Catchpole Den of Geek A dynamic British indie that highlights essential human drama in amongst an inconspicuous disease, Starfish packs a potent punch about life's fragility. Rated: 4/5 Mar 19, 2020 Full Review Rosalynn Try-Hane Battle Royale With Cheese This is a biopic by numbers in reverse order so the worse is at the beginning of the film.
