On the surface, Hollywood acting legend Steve McQueen had everything he could want: fame, cars, homes and more money than he could spend in a lifetime. His complicated personal life and religious faith are less known, however. Pastor Greg Laurie drives on the open road in a replica of the actor's Ford Mustang from the film "Bullitt" in search of the true, untold story of McQueen's final chapters.

The most compelling parts of the film are recordings where McQueen himself appears to be trying to dispel his title as "The King of Cool" and talks quietly and humbly about the pain that led him to Christ.

Amazing Documentary... The King of Cool Gave His heart to the King of Kings. He found the peace we all desire, and I believe at last found what he had been seeking all His life. How cool is it. That Rev. Billy Graham did not pass away until this movie was put out to the World...

If you know Steve McQueen, this is a must-see movie that completes the story of this life. He was truly an icon of his time and this movie is well worth seeing to learn of what you might not otherwise have known about him.

Mel Gibson is one of the people who explain and show exactly why, with movie shots, as to why Steve McQueen stole every shot against other actors--very funny. Very entertaining and enlightening. Loved every moment of this well done film. All kinds of extra tidbits on this actor. I'm reading the book also. Very good.

We were given tickets by some good friends, who, unfortunately, could not join us. I would never have bought tickets to see this movie, but I did really enjoy it. I thought it was a good retrospective of McQueen's career and childhood, as well as, his religious conversion. I wouldn't say it is for everyone, but we did like it. It is a Fathom Special event and will be rebroadcast on October 10th if you are interested...
