Kerensa Cadenas Bitch Media While Nicks' documentary doesn't work well for the less devoted fans, it's still a fascinating portrait of an endlessly inspirational woman who cares deeply about women's rights within the music industry and outside it. Jan 15, 2021 Full Review Linda Barnard Toronto Star True fans will find their gold dust woman as the doc unspools, witnessing the creative machinery behind her songwriting process, as Nicks makes the 2011 album of the same name in her California home studio. Rated: 3/4 Apr 15, 2013 Full Review Bill Brownstein Montreal Gazette There is probably much more and much less to the life and times of Stevie Nicks than what is presented in this picture. But it will take someone else to bring that story to the screen. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 14, 2013 Full Review Jay Stone Canada.com [A] vanity project. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 18, 2013 Full Review Katherine Monk Canada.com For all the generic filmmaking device, In Your Dreams is not a generic experience because Stevie Nicks is not your average pop star. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 18, 2013 Full Review Dave Bidini National Post While watching people write is rarely effective cinema, the only thing less gripping is watching people track boring albums, which Nicks and her band do throughout In Your Dreams. alec b Getting to see Stevie in natural element, at home and in the studio was a real treat. "In Your Dreams" captures the heart and soul that Stevie puts into every album, song and concert. Having a behind the scenes look at her latest album and it's making was incredible! The only thing that could have improved the documentary as a whole would have been more background info on her young life and beginnings as a solo artist. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Although at times, the filmmaking is choppy, In Your Dreams still rises, and ends up being a quite beautiful, and entertaining documentary. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty good documentary of Nicks working with Dave Stewart on first album in ten years. If you like Stevie, definitely watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Self-indulgent. But, I suppose that is what one would expect from celebs that executive produce, produce, direct, and star in a production. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Essentially the making of a Stevie solo album, the doc offers some good moments of behind-the-scenes views of the album-making process. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Documentary. A look inside of Stevie's creative world. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
