Jarrod R An extra 1/2 a star in honor of Wendie Jo Sperber, because they did her dirty.
This one is ridiculous, problematic, and
has nearly all of the 80s tropes that are sprinkled in, hell, poured in, in the interest of cheap laughs. I did chuckle quite a few times, mostly because of a well placed sound effect, but overall this was on the "wow, this is garbage" side of the street. The 1980s. So many great movies and then this one. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review Audience Member Weak, unfunny rip off of Police Academy. The R rating comes from some nude scenes that had me reaching for the fast forward button. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I would guess that the percentage of people who like this film would be roughly equal to those who consider airline food fine dining. Film isn't nearly as hot to trot as the box suggests and most jokes miss the mark. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member "Stewardess School" stars some recognizable actors in an all-round bad movie. Don Most was best known for playing Ralph Malph on "Happy Days" and Julia Montgomery was known for "Revenge of the Nerds." Brett Cullen is the only one who salvaged his career after this stinker, going on to star in "Lost" for several seasons. It's a typical '80s comedy: loser guys figure out how to hook up with hot chicks with hijinks to follow. This premise was done much better in 1985's "Private Resort." In a post 9/11 America, the movie's sour notes are just that much more flat. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is a riot. But it's a really bad movie. I say "Rent it", but with the caveat that you should not have high expectations. Fine art, this is not. Following the antics of an oddball group which is reminicent of the group of goofballs in the Police Academy franchise, you are faced with rude passengers, uppity stereotypes, and a little boy who doesn't want his nuts crushed. Keep in mind that the Police Academy characters look downright COMPETENT compared to the characters you will find in Stewardess School. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Police Academy-style film with group of rejects entering Stewardess School with predictable results. Prepare for some air sickness as the comedy efforts barely take flight. Sherman Helmsley adds a small role as a blind passenger. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
