Director Owen Gower mixes plentiful archive footage with contemporary interviews to cut through the media rhetoric about rioting pickets and paint an altogether more alarming portrait of a carefully orchestrated state crackdown. Go to Full Review

This is timely, important and truthful cinema, at once bitter, nostalgic and unexpectedly uplifting. Go to Full Review

"History is written by the victors," said Winston Churchill famously, but Still The Enemy Within shows you can lose big and still emerge with a voice. Go to Full Review

The technological revolution makes Britain's industrial past seem more distant than it really is, but this is a film you watch for the people involved. Their stories are inspiring. Go to Full Review

06/17/2017 Valuable account from some of its most militant activists of the strike which sadly fails to address the important lesson of the reasons for its defeat, preferring to end with bland feel good statements that mystify and hide the fact that this destroyed the working class as a political force in the UK, a lesson still unlearned after more than 30 years. See more 07/21/2015 The Miners Strike as told by those that lived it, a truly important film. See more 03/14/2015 Very one sided documentary about the 84/85 Miners' strike. In the vein of a David Peace novel, this plays out like an epic war of the people. I took away the sense of community and belonging. They were chaotic times, but at least people cared and were involved. See more 02/23/2015 Utterly heartwrenching but finishes on a surprisingly upbeat note. You will feel an overwhelming urge to listen to Dropkick Murphys' cover of Which Side Are You On straight after so make sure you have it to hand. See more 02/15/2015 Great topic, so boring. We have 5? Interviewees expressing the same thoughts... Way too long See more 10/26/2014 Well, that was a cracker of a documentary. No narration necessary, just the people themselves: proud, passionate and unbowed. My lessons (as if I needed them): fight for what you believe in; do not trust the media & always, always question what you're told; NEVER trust the Government (no matter what their colour); and never, ever put your faith in the police.
