Noel Murray Los Angeles Times While Whelan repeats his points too much, it remains gripping and maddening throughout to watch him run into stone walls. Dec 14, 2015 Full Review Nick Schager Variety No matter its cinematic derivativeness, "Stink!'s" outcry against continuing to use the American citizenry as chemistry experiment guinea pigs carries with it the unassailable whiff of common sense. Dec 4, 2015 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A heartfelt documentary about the chemical industry's aggressive efforts to conceal the thousands of potentially toxic ingredients contained in everyday products. Nov 26, 2015 Full Review Louis Proyect rec.arts.movies.reviews A chilling exploration of the toxic underpinnings of the word "fragrance" that appears on detergents and colognes alike. Nov 27, 2015 Full Review Frank Lovece Film Journal International Breezy, Michael Moore-ish environmental documentary by a non-tree-hugging venture capitalist advocates for disclosure of carcinogenic chemicals in everyday products. Nov 25, 2015 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film A rather slipshod approach to the science of the subject undermines what might otherwise be a very strong film. Audience Member Excellent show , really makes you think about using all those nasty chemicals 🤢🤢🤢🤢 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Ugh. Angry rich New York liberal lashing out at someone (and probably anyone) for his wife's death with no evidence it was chemicals...or anything else. Gross. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member The documentary was 85 minutes too long. Companies use mystery ingredients for fragrance; some of those ingredients might be harmful. End of movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Insightful important information that everyone should know. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member As Far As Documentaries Go, The Ground Covered Here Lacks The Depth Of Other Well-Schooled & Hard-Nosed Investigative Journalism. This Is More Of A "Mind The Step" / "Don't Bump Ya Head" Kinda Deal. It Travels Needlessly Over The Same Ground Without Developing Anything New Other Than The Original Premise Covered In The First 20-Minutes. Preeches To The Otherwise Converted. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A potentially interesting topic undermined by scientific facts presented out of context to suit the director's narrative. Constant home video footage of the director's (unfortunately) deceased wife shows his emotional attachment to the subject, which doesn't serve his purpose of trying to present "scientific research." Watch this documentary and you might be fooled into thinking everything from nature is good and everything made in a laboratory is evil and toxic, also that the Earth is flat and can you ward off bad omens by throwing a pinch of salt over your left shoulder. The most interesting question this documentary raised for me was why is America so obsessed with making everything smell like apples, sugar and spice?
