Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com Edwards has a fun idea that barely bursts forth, and his command of comic violence leave much to be desired. Rated: C Apr 15, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Darrell S A young Claire Bronson makes this a great movie to watch. Some cheesy bits, but its fun with a great soundtrack. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review nick s I was up for a shlock flick but this movie fell short of even that low bar. The songs were as dead and flat as the action scenes. And the acting was student level. But the worst thing is that hardly anything interesting happens for most of the runtime. It's just a dull slog. As for the guy in the ape suit... geez, it's not 1930. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/12/24 Full Review henry d It was a very enjoyable movie the songs it remind of the beach blanket movies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Dull as dirt. But for "The Syphilis Song", this is so not worth sitting through. Consult such classics as "Horror of Party Beach" and "The Beach Girls and the Monster" to see how a proper beach party/monster movie mash up is done. It's like they forgot to make this entertaining... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The only reason to watch this is for some cool surf rock and to learn what a "skunk ape" is, but soundtrack alone doesn't make a movie. The whole beach party/monster movie spoof is pleasant enough but never particularly funny. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The best part about this movie was the music (specifically the syphilis song). Tries too hard to be a straight-up 60's style monster movie (when it should have been more of a spoof) though and suffers from it. It's dull as dirt actually.
