From its appreciation for the action movies that came before to its message of found family, Stone Cold Fox is a revenge tale wrapped in a hug. Go to Full Review

On paper, it sounds like a gritty, emotional revenge tale with a feminist twist. In practice, it’s a mix of good intentions and bad editing. Go to Full Review

These types of films have a distinct DNA. We get some action and a couple of fights, but there is a missing spark that usually cranks even the worst of these movies up to a watchable guilty pleasure. Go to Full Review

Whatever audiences take away from the film, there is no denying it delivers sheer entertainment. Darkly comic on occasion, seedier than Liv Tyler’s turn in Super, and more fun than anything this far down the cinematic food chain deserves to be. Go to Full Review

Despite a trio of promising cast led by Kiernan Shipka, Krysten Ritter and Kiefer Sutherland, Sophie Tabet's '80s-set debut feature is mostly a letdown. Go to Full Review

STONE COLD FOX is a gorgeous throwback action-thriller. This is exactly the kind of movie I grew up watching, but now the lead characters are women. Don’t worry, there are men in this movie as well. More than there were women in most 1980s action movies. Go to Full Review

Patrick C Nov 29 A throwback to 1980's B movies, Kiernan Shipka plays Fox, a runaway who's recruited and falls in love with drug dealer Goldie (Krysten Ritter). However, after the shine of her new life and relationship has worn off, Fox looks to break free of Goldie. Upon doing so, she inadvertently steals a bag of cocaine rather than cash from Goldie and in order to get it back, Goldie kidnaps Fox's sister Spooky (Bluesy Burke), leading to a third act final showdown. Toss in crooked sergeant Billy Breaker (Kiefer Sutherland) of a small town in California and I was hooked. This is exactly what you'd expect it to be based on the trailer: a fun film from yesteryear that doesn't take itself too seriously and is good, wholesome fun. It's a respectful homage to cult films that didn't make a lot of noise upon their original release but have gathered a big following as time has progressed. B movie and grindhouse films are a guilty pleasure of mine and can be done on smaller budgets so I'm surprised (and a little disappointed) more of these aren't being made. And while I'm sure some will write this off as a waste of time, I argue you could do worse with 80 minutes or so of your life. See more Zahid T Nov 26 I'm never get those 90 minutes back. Forgot tht waste of time, my head hurts after watching this garbage. This movie is evidence that no producer should ever hire Sarah Talbot and Julia Roth! What an idiotic storyline. There were bouts of decent acting by some of the actors but they couldn't save this movie from the hatchet job by Sarah and Julia. See more Laura D Nov 22 The film is written and directed by two lesbians; it's their sexual fantasy starring Kiernan and Krysten. It's a mix of other films, it has no script structure, Frankie's fantasies are complete nonsense, and Kiernan's difficulties... I lost a lot of money. See more Lavish C Nov 17 I couldn't finish it. At first I thought "nah, the IMDb rating is so wrong, this isn't that bad". Mostly because of Kiernan, what an interesting face, it's a bit like a dark angry Hermione. The casting in general is quite good. But it's quite slow and weird. And then there's this Frankie woman and her delusional wannabe martial artist brother, it really looks like a teenager wrote this, and when this Frankie start pulling out some sort of Star Wars saber/nunchaku I just left. It's SO tonally WRONG. SO out of place. See more Andrei D Nov 16 A pretty stacked cast cannot make this any more than reheated tropes and dumb twists, with no space for anyone to do anything interesting See more William R. @MileHighMilk Nov 15 Very 80s feel to it. A decent watch, wishing for a better plot though. See more Read all reviews
