Smarting from a romantic breakup, macho police Sgt. Joe Bomowski (Sylvester Stallone) gets a cross-country visit from his mother, Tutti (Estelle Getty). Her misguided efforts to help only fray his nerves, but that doesn't stop her from nagging Joe to be more open about his feelings toward his ex-girlfriend and current boss, Lt. Gwen Harper (JoBeth Williams). When Tutti witnesses a brutal multiple murder, she takes her meddling to the extreme by tagging along to help her son solve the case.

A refreshing reminder that sometimes movies can be everything they need to be by offering nothing more than a hairbrained setup or a particularly delicious cast pairing, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot delivers exactly what it promises, and delightfully so.

الفيلم متوسط. الفكرة حلوة لكن التنفيذ ضعيف والحوارات سطحية. الممثلين أداؤهم مقبول وحاولوا يقدمون أفضل ما عندهم، لكن السيناريو ضعيف والقصة لا يمكن إنقاذها. ستالون مو مناسب للكوميديا، حضوره جامد وما يعطي أي تعبير، فحسيت إنه بالمكان الخطأ. الممثلة اللي لعبت دور الأم كانت جيدة بالبداية، لكن اعتماد المخرج عليها أغلب الفيلم جعلها مزعجة أحيانًا. غياب المخرج عن الشخصيات الثانوية وجعل حضورهم صوري بلا تأثير على الأحداث ساهم في ضعف الفيلم. الإخراج تقليدي زيادة عن اللزوم، السرد سريع ويركز على شخصيتين فقط، ما يخلي المواقف الكوميدية تبني بشكل طبيعي، أغلب المشاهد متوقعة. التصوير مقبول، الإضاءة والألوان وحركة الكاميرا كانت مناسبة. الموسيقى مقبولة ببعض المشاهد ومزعجة ببعضها الآخر. باختصار، فيلم خفيف وعادي، فكرته حلوه لكن المخرج ستهلكها و حرقها باول مشهدين لذالك راح تحس بقية الفلم باهت لانك تعرف الفلم وين رايح وكيف راح ينتهي .
