Charles Gant Variety A London self-storage facility provides an appropriately eerie location for Storage 24, an amiably routine genre pic that combines sci-fi and horror elements. Jan 10, 2013 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter This low-budget Alien knock-off set in a London self-storage facility inspires more claustrophobia than chills. Jan 10, 2013 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis NPR Derivative and dorky, Storage 24 still entertains more often than it exasperates. Jan 10, 2013 Full Review Mark H. Harris Black Horror Movies Like a high-end SyFy movie, Storage 24 is eminently watchable but only sporadically enjoyable. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 25, 2020 Full Review Ivan Radford CineVue Roberts gets the most out of the mildly novel premise and there are some welcome stabs of humour. The pacing is fairly nippy, too, while the derivative monster design is gooey enough to keep the thrills cheap and trashy. Rated: 3/5 Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Charles Webb MTV From a technical standpoint, it's a mixed bag while the stories and characters you're trapped with for an hour and a half offer nothing compelling. terese b A cut above your normal monster horror movie with a slightly deeper romantic plot and an interesting plot twist at the end. It did make me squirm a few times and jump here and there. I also rooted for the underdog hero and cared if he survived. Definitely worth watching if you appreciate this genre. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/20/23 Full Review Audience Member The closing scene made me think that this film intended to be another Cloverfield... and I don't even care much for the Cloverfield series. Too much of it was predictable. It was just okay in all aspects. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member "Storage 24" is pretty shocking. From awful acting to a piss poor story the whole film was just crap. The actual production of the film was fine (other than some points I will get to) and is the reason is doesn't get half a star. Clearly derived straight from "Predator" the monster was not too inventive though was scary I have to admit. This did result in a few scenes that were actually quite tense and frightening. However, the obvious blunder at the start and awful looking cgi set the film out to fail within 5 minutes. Can another viewer tell me where this is set? Is it Hyde Park or is it Battersea? How such an obvious blunder , literally within the first 5 minutes passes is beyond me. Secondly, the first, opening picture of the film is an awful looking skyline of "stereotypical" London. Not an actual skyline. I mean how hard is it to literally go to London and film that shot properly (Primrose Hill would be perfect!). This all culminates with to produce a very poor film in almost every aspect and is one to avoid, Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member It'd probably be pretty jingoist of me to imply that a British microbudget horror film is better than an American microbudget horror film of the same vein purely by virtue of being British, but seeing as I'm an Australian and so it's not really patriotic for me to lean one way or the other, I'm gonna go ahead and outright say it: "a British microbudget horror film is better than an American microbudget horror film of the same vein purely by virtue of being British". Storage 24 isn't breaking any new ground, but there's some neat practical effects and often even features bearable acting quality. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Yet another 'nasty alien on rampage' film. It suffers badly from the plot having to squeeze into the gaps between 'Alien', 'Cloverfield' and 'Battle Los Angeles' (for the very last 30 seconds) - but misses a trick by taking itself too seriously. Had Simon Pegg and Nick Frost had something to do with it, they could have taken it in a much fresher direction. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
