Sure, it’s riddled with cliches, and the dialogue is often forced and contrived. Still, it somehow is elevated by the performances and the decent cinematography, often combining cinema-verite tactics in utilizing simulated news broadcasts.

Strain 100 fulfills the Zombie 101 mandate of blood and body count, with the added bonus of a genuine sense of geographical scope. Storywise, though, it is not a strong genre entry.

Funny how critics find this derivative and cliche. That's pretty much what zombie movies are! This one has all the necessary cliches and some charm and works just fine for this zombie loving movie viewer.

Put all the zombie clichés into a blender and film over a long weekend and this is the movie you would get. Only reason was not zero was there was a good shooting sequence with hickcock45.
