Gianmarco R Film that can only be defined as ugly and with a plot without the slightest sense copied by other films of its kind. The acting is not bad either but the rest is really rubbish and it doesn't make the slightest sense, even when everything is explained in the end you still don't understand anything. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/09/22 Full Review Audience Member Despite the many bad reviews about this movie, I found it really good. Sara was a convincing acted character who gets herself involved in a rather deep mystery while researching the murder of three students some 100 years before. Eerily, while she is researching this the more recent suicide of a female student becomes entangled in the mystery. I thought that all the actors did a good job and the camera work and music was fantastic. I was sitting on the edge of my seat right to the end - I just had to know what happened! I would recommend this for anyone who is not into a lot of blood and gore but wants to watch a movie because it has a good plot and script. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Ida T Probably the worst, most pathetic attempt at horror ever made, but also hysterically funny (for that reason) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/15/11 Full Review Audience Member Only "good" thing is seeing that in Sweden they do the same crap of movies than in Hollywood ... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I decide I would see some Swedish horror movies for no reason what's so ever and mainly because I felt like it OKAY. The drowning ghost is okay Slasher flicks are not really my kind of film but still and anyhow Swedish horror movies are turning out to be okay so far. I got to say it has some pretty brutal and graphic scenes. Hundred years ago, three students at the Hellestads Boarding School were brutally slaughtered, the murderer drowned himself in a lake nearby and his body was never found. The story has become a legend for generations of students as well as a yearly festivity. Sara, a student, is writing an essay based on the legend and uncovers new facts from the event that will cast dark shadows on the family name of one of the school's main beneficiaries. On the night of the hundredth anniversary, the festivities go awry, students disappear and something dark and unknown is moving through the schools corridors. It was a bit promising but it turned out to be okay only a few scenes did make me jump. The acting is okay I can understand some lines of Swedish but from what I heard it was oaky. The special effects are extremely awesome in my opinion best part about the movie with all those of graphic violence, anyone that did hate it would have thought some of these scenes saved the film. The music was good, And I saw they tried to do the whole Argento things with dark settings. Here are some facts I found. Director Mikael Håfström got his inspiration from Old Norse myths. Jesper Salén was badly cut beneath his right eye after got hit by one of the propellers of an engine to a motorboat. He was rushed to the hospital but was able to re-shoot the scene the next day. Some deaths were heavily edited by the directing himself. Overall its slightly recommended and my final verdict is go right ahead all you horror likers.
