Peyton Robinson RogerEbert.com Hinging on the nitpicking anxieties of the true crime genre, “Strange Harvest” maintains an air of abject horror, even if its penchant for ease nudges focus out of the way. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 8, 2025 Full Review Nick Schager The Daily Beast “[Its] tale about a California serial killer with supernatural intentions is filtered through a persuasive verité lens that, however skin-deep, underscores the enduring effectiveness of its non-fiction devices." Aug 8, 2025 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com It’s a grisly piece of work — drawing at least minor inspiration from the New French Extremity movement, of all places — but one that manages to display its cutthroat ambitions with surprising subtlety. Rated: 3/4 Aug 8, 2025 Full Review James Preston Poole But Why Tho? A Geek Community Strange Harvest is an ambitious work, gliding from procedural to something more cosmic, yet its inconsistent execution leaves something to be desired. Aug 12, 2025 Full Review Tom Atkinson Film Threat Strange Harvest is a brutal, well-crafted descent into depravity that walks a tightrope between realism and horror fantasy. Rated: 8/10 Aug 12, 2025 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X On-target true crime doc-style investigation of a ritual serial killer. Rated: B Aug 11, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Michael It was like if Se7en was done as a documentary. A bit of a slow burn, but good fun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/25 Full Review m Walked in expecting a cinematic movie, turned out to be a documentary.. made the experience so much better. 10/10 recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/25 Full Review David B. Tooo much talking. 80% of the movie was talking. there were only 6 other people in the theater. What you see in the trailer was basically all the action and horror. The Blair Witch Project was way better. This movie was not worth $13.25.. I read other reviews and people said the same thing. some said they walked out. It was just a documentary of a couple of detectives talking and talking and talking and talking. I literally dozed off twice 😴 God is my witness. Rotten Tomatoes 🍅 gave it a ROTTEN SCORE!!! Here's mine⭐️👎 DON'T waste your money. Even if the ticket is FREE!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/11/25 Full Review Brandon B Story was interesting enough. The true crime documentary angle was kind of a unique approach to telling the story for a feature film. The acting, though…pretty cringe-worthy. Actors trying to pretend they’re doing interviews for a real-life doc but coming across like they’re acting. Unnatural and awkward. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/25 Full Review Tom B Meh. I was bummed to learn that the thing is a "mockumentary," which is revealed at the END of the credits. Oh well. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/25 Full Review Austin Great and not too gory. It's a great crime mockumentary that really feels genuine for most of it. Definitely worth seeing for any true crime fans Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/25 Full Review Read all reviews
