Cliched literary trappings come together in "Stuck in Love," but the final product feels more like a footnote than a finished work. Go to Full Review

Although "Stuck in Love" is an indie film, it hews slavishly to Hollywood formulas right down to its comfy Thanksgiving Day ending. It's all so easy, isn't it? Go to Full Review

Meri S. @mschroeder Nov 27 Watched this a number of years ago. A hidden gem. See more Brian B. @bbiggane Nov 26 We liked it a lot, and not just because I’m also a writer, more specifically a career journalist. It definitely brought out a lot of emotional swings as the dynamics among the characters kept changing. The end surprised me somewhat but maybe it shouldn’t have. See more Nim T Jul 31 The movie brings important reflection regarding the love relationship between couples. Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly nevertheless showed the love they had for each other, despite the obstacles that each were facing. While they tried to compensate using other halves, it did not erase the fact of their mutual respect for each other. Lily Collins did a fine job in the film because she was able to present the after effects from her parents' divorce, yet writing became her coping mechanism. The contrast she was able to show between insecurity to having a heart for her boyfriend is achievable. Nat Wolff and Liana Liberato's chemistry was impeccable, yet a little disappointing because it would have been nice for a happily ever after for them as well especially the troubles they had to be together. It is a rom-com that may look average, but more than average in my book. See more W. Scott S @Acester25 Feb 14 One of my favorites. Highly underrated movie. The music is perfect. A movie with characters that are cynical about love, but love can thankfully find its way to anyone and heal their spirit. (At least that's what I get out of it) One part of the movie also hits harder for me than some since I lost my Mom to cancer. But this movie is amazing IMO. See more Jonathan K 11/11/2024 It's quite Hollywood and somehow makes the hard things seem glossy and clean -- reeking a little of privilege and ease -- but it's also able to tell multiple stories and highlight different aspects of love in the individual storylines of the characters quite well without feeling like it's trying to do too much. It's a real tearjerker when the sad scenes show up and has quite a lot of humor sprinkled throughout. So for what it is, it's really good: a pop rom-com made for watching on a longhaul flight. See more 07/06/2024 Over a decade old I remember liking it a lot the first time The film is a great collection of these actors, you feel their dilemmas and they truly feel like real people with actual problems Lots of winning performances all around Although Bell really could've been cut out entirely next to the brother's first love interest and her jackass boyfriend They didn't really leave enough of an impression I actually did teary eyed in a couple spots Great points about romance, love, and humanity We all come to expect some hard truths See more Read all reviews
