M M True underdog story. made me cry and cheer for the underdogs to win Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/23 Full Review tarek a Sui daaga is a delightful film of the downtrodden poor trying to gather the courage to rise up and believe in their own talent. The movie frankly shows how the system is stacked against those trying to take control of their own destiny. I was very impressed by the acting of Varun and Anushka, since they usually take very shallow roles IMHO. Of course, two epic Internet memes were also born from the Happy cry face of Anushka. 🤣 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a refreshingly good movie. The story is narrated beautifully and the direction, music score, editing and acting by almost all the characters is natural. Anushka Sharma absolutely rocks the role (nothing less is expected of this fine actress), but I was completely surprised by Varun Dahwan. He has really proven to be a real actor, not just a star. Raghubir Yadav is a natural as the rural, underclass, apologetic man with a simmering underclass anger. The story flows well. You feel the frustration when the protagonists are frustrated. You feel the elation of small moments with them. You feel their emotions. All in all, a wonderfully told story. Kudos to each and every one who has worked on this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review yash b "Sui Dhaaga" is a solid and lighthearted movie with a good message. I liked the story and characters in the movie and thought it was well-intentioned. It was commendable that this movie tried to have characters that seemed like everyday people. However, the story isn't always evenly paced. The movie didn't really grab my interest until the intermission and I felt the first half probably could have been cut shorter since it wasn't the most interesting part of the movie. Still, as a whole, this movie was heartwarming and the main conflict in the second have is entertaining to watch. If you are looking to watch a good, clean, and pleasant Bollywood movie, this is a solid option. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member What could have been a very good movie is spoiled at some places by over dramatic acting by the lead actors. Watch the trailer if you don't trust me. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Maybe should have given 5, excellent. Loved the characters, story, performances. Can happily recommend! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anupama Chopra Film Companion Anushka Sharma, grappling with an under-written character, is solid. And they are supported by Raghubir Yadav, brilliant as the father who weeps while watching daily soaps and Yamini Dass, who steals the show as Mauji's mother. Rated: 3/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Poulomi Das Arré In a film about dignity of labour, Katariya's mastery is most evident in parts where the focus is on the immense emotional and domestic labour every married small-town woman inevitably shoulders. Mar 11, 2019 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters The convoluted plot is a drawback, but much like a tapestry, the beauty here lies in the detail, in the small things. And in this respect, Sui Dhaaga is a winner. Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare A refreshingly different love story than what get mostly served to us. Rated: 3/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma portray the world of Sui Dhaaga with a gentleness that turns everything it touches into gold. Rated: 4/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Raja Sen Hindustan Times The film takes over two hours to stitch together the same blasted story. Rated: 2/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
