Critics Consensus

Suicide Squad boasts a talented cast and a little more humor than previous DCEU efforts, but they aren't enough to save the disappointing end result from a muddled plot, thinly written characters, and choppy directing.

Samantha Riedel Bitch Media DC Comics' latest addition to their burgeoning cinematic universe fails in several rather spectacular ways. Feb 11, 2021 Full Review K. Austin Collins The Ringer For all its cast and crew's inglorious chest-thumping, Suicide Squad is a failed, forced exercise in - of all things! you had one job! - ensemble chemistry. Aug 10, 2017 Full Review Matthew Rozsa Salon.com Based on the screening I attended, I can attest that audiences seemed to genuinely enjoy the jokes and get swept up in the action sequences. Rated: 3/4 Aug 3, 2017 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews A tonal mess with good characters.. Aug 7, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) The film’s reputation is worse than its actual quality, but it’s still not good enough to hold a candle to what James Gunn did with the characters in 2021. Jun 16, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Bad pacing, horribly chopped-up story structure, and dull forgettable action. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 25, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Big Red Cool to see the characters on the big screen Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Heel365 the main part was this is what Ghostbusters should've been Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/17/21 Full Review Audience Member É ruim que chega a doer Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review Samuel W Notable as the most awful DC film of all time, it isn't as bad as everyone says it is. But it's only slightly better. With jokes that just totally miss the mark, and terrible uses of nuanced and complex characters such as El Diablo, Harley Quinn, Joker, Deadshot, and Amanda Waller, it just feels like they wanted to force a smile on the faces of fans, but instead spit in them instead. With forced cameos of Justice League favorites, Batman and The Flash, it felt like they wanted to do more and be more than what they had or was given, but it felt out of place and odd at the end of the day. Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, and Will Smith were the only good, enjoyable parts of the film, where even Karen Fukuhara, Ben Affleck, and Jared Leto were done dirty by a terrible script and costume design. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Phoenix J This was a genuinely good movie. The CGI, ending and characters were top notch to be honest. I love how Harley Quinn played by Margot Robbie was funny with jokes, my family definitely found this movie really fun to watch and had a good laugh. Overall I’d rate it 4/5.
