Some kind of Suicide Squad?" wholly represents this movie. A try hard movie that does nothing in terms of story or emotion. The movie also tries so hard to be edgy, cool, funny and it end up coming off as corny and cringe. Just a bland movie (with a fairly entertaining soundtrack) everything considered. The story is pretty forgettable, not that engaging or interesting. A meh movie with lackluster writing, unfunny quips and for the most part robotic dialogue across the board. Margot Robbie’s and Viola Davis’ portrayal of Harley Quinn and Amanda Waller respectively partnered with the soundtrack were the only saving graces of the movie. Meanwhile, Jared Leto’s abominable iteration of the Joker was both an ear and eye sore just a whole mess. The picture/cinematography is pretty meh as well with it being very dark in terms of lighting making it hard to see. A great premise with possibly a potential for a plot ends up being a spectacle for the cerebrally compromised. Considering Will Smith chose this over the Independence Day sequel therefore pretty much removing the character continuity and the franchise: Will Smith as Will Smith once again, I struggle to see how only he could do this role. Cara Delevingne, perhaps if you had been allowed to show character depth it would have been fair but no, you were there for your looks, they were not interested in seeing if you could act. Jared Leto - OK good consistency with others who played the role, but was he an afterthought? I just don't know what they were thinking with this movie.
