Based on a shocking true story, Melanie McGuire (Candice King) was an exceptional fertility nurse, married to her ex-Navy husband Bill (Michael Roark) and doting mother of two boys. When she falls for Brad (Jackson Hurst), a doctor at her clinic, and gets entangled in a steamy love affair, Melanie does the unthinkable. After drugging and murdering Bill, she dismembers him and places the body parts into three suitcases, throwing them into Chesapeake Bay. But when the suitcases are found on the shores of Virginia Beach, an investigation is launched leading to Melanie as the prime suspect. Led by the efforts of assistant attorney general Patti Prezioso (Wendie Malick), authorities eventually bring Melanie to justice, who despite being convicted, continues to maintain her innocence.

This drama takes a definite position on the defendant's guilt—the movie suggests she's guilty—but doesn't show us the evidence that persuades us beyond a reasonable doubt that she did the deed. Go to Full Review

dlma1 M @dlma1 1d I was searching Netflix for a time-killer movie and stumbled upon this one. I already knew about the real case from documentaries and thought that since this was on Netflix that it would be a quality production that would add to my understanding of the case. My mistake, this is a Lifetime movie that plays fast and loose with the facts - in particular, it blames the victim (of course, a man). The acting is either stilted or overwrought - never even adequate. Writing and direction are sub-optimal. Avoid unless you want to laugh at how bad this one is. See more Whitney R @WickyWicky Jan 28 Netflix usually doesn’t disappoint with the crime dramas, but this was like a cheesy Lifetime movie. Acting was terrible, plot was predictable, music was noticeably "intense". Save yourself the 90 minutes! Shocked to see Wendie Malik in something so bad.
