In 2020, the world was forced into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Taking advantage of the opportunity to work remotely, fishing enthusiast Shinsaku (Masaki Suda) who works for a large company in Tokyo falls in love at first sight with a fantastic 4LDK property with a rent of 60,000 yen. He starts a relaxed "trial move" in the town of Sanriku, where the sea is close by and he can enjoy his favorite fishing. In his spare time from work, he goes to the sea and spends his days engrossed in fishing, but the townspeople are worried about Shinsaku, an outsider from Tokyo. Although Shinsaku is confused by the quirky locals' interactions with no sense of distance, he eventually blends in with them thanks to his natural positive personality and drive, but what an unexpected life awaits him?!

日之石 桂 All the actors are lively and full of humanity. The film also has a fine sense of balance throughout, inserting light comedy after sad scenes and making it look like a cooking film without overdoing it. It will also be interesting to see how those who watch this film decades from now will feel about it, since it depicts the current era. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Read all reviews
