Tom Cassidy Common Sense Media Some superhero movies descend into a confusing mess of explosions shot by whirling cameras. But here the animation is crisp and clear, making every thump and blown-up building a gripping spectacle. Rated: 4/5 May 3, 2022 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed Would I buy it? Havering P OMG! The trillions of dollars of collateral damage caused by Superman and Brainiac in this one, just waved away and never commented on, truly unbelievable! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review steve d Surprisingly mature story that captures the feel of the animated series wile doing something new with it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Started off strong with some great voice over talents but fell short with the story and action scenes. There is a good twist near the end of the middle act but it was not good enough to redeem the movie. It felt sluggish and the action at the end seemed boring and monotonous. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member To start, if you're a fan of the franchise you're immediately taken out of it by the voice acting. The substitute voices are far distracting if you're used to the original cast. They make Superman out to be a very, very slow learner and Lex's character has been turned into a complaining child. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Although non-canon despite the pleasant return of a modern animated style and vocal energy, except on how the secondary antagonistic force was portrayed, it's mostly satisfying from the looks of a considered future direction with a thrilling pace that matches a portion of the genre's current taste in action. (B+) (Full review TBD) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A good portrayal of Superman placed on the backdrop of a neo-futurist Metropolis, Superman: Brainiac Attacks was a present surprise for the old DC Animated Universe. The animation was at its usual high standard, and the action sequences were particularly involving. The characters of Brainiac, Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, and Lois Lane were as one-dimensional as usual. However, this is made up for by Clark Kent's well-made exploration in this film. As Clark Kent is Superman's only weakness, it is important to give time and effort to develop this character. The story is as mundane as I have grown to expect from this series, but that does not stop Superman's shining character from shining through. I am glad that the universe ended on a high note.
