Self-conscious camp like this can weather (even requires) a certain degree of amateurishness. But there are limits, and Surge of Power's sloppy writing and talent-show performances quickly exceed them. Go to Full Review

[It] lives very comfortably in its low-budget vibe. It'sself-aware and self-serious in roughly equal measures. Go to Full Review

04/02/2012 Even though the acting may seem extremely bad/silly and the plot is quite straightforward, the movie is written in a way to keep every scene quite entertaining. The actors seem extremely aware of the movie's campiness, which just makes this movie a lot more fun. If you like TaEASGJ, King of the Hill, and other shows/movies with more subtle humor then this is the movie for you. See more 07/21/2008 This movie was super duper dumb. The gay superhero was scrawny, ugly and flamey. And it wasn't even the good flamey gay. I sat through the first 45 minutes. No way Jose am I sitting through the rest. See more 02/21/2008 I don't mind the occassional low budget queer movie - especially if its a comedy - but damn! This SUCKED. We watched it the whole way through hoping it would redeem itself, but no dice. See more 09/20/2007 Best Superhero Movie in Years !! See more Read all reviews
