Steve S A real feel good movie with spectacular scenery from the Greek Islands. Great casting - Shannon Elizabeth is perfectly cast in her starring role as an LPGA star with "the yips" and Tom O'Hurley is a brilliant and lovable villain. Definitely worth a watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/22 Full Review robert p Not a fantastic film but a very good movie, I recommend it to one and all, the most interesting thing about is the meltdown on National TV during a Televised Meet. The other thing about the movie is food and drink and especially the 10 year old girl that wants to be the next generation of Golfers. I highly rate this film with a *4* star review!!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This story is told with tenderness and commitment. The grandparents' welcome reduced me to tears as it reminded me of the purity of that relationship and the many times (before cell phones) that we would arrive to my grandparents' home after over a day of grueling travel from the states. The cinematography was lovely, the story and acting was great. The only thing that distracted from the already solid and interesting plot line was the introduction of a "love interest". The uniqueness of the story was already shining beautifully without it and was telling an important story of advocacy, unity and mentorship. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member A breath of fresh air,it's david vs goliath and we all know how that story go's. A true heart warmer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It's charming, sweet and warm. If you're looking for big thrills and wormholes in space clearly this is not the film you're looking for, but if you like Shannon Elizabeth (and I do) and want to see her in more leading roles (and I do), then this is an enjoyable way to spend 98 minutes. Maybe Netflix could give Shannon a series? I'd watch. Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Just like its struggling athletic heroine, "Swing Away" develops a case of the yips. Oct 12, 2017 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed Swing Away is a cute film with lots of charm, it has good examples for lead characters and a fairly typical bad guy who feels a bit like a cartoon. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 14, 2020 Full Review Sandie Angulo Chen Common Sense Media Predictable but sweet family-friendly golf comedy. Rated: 3/5 Oct 24, 2017 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com A charming tale of community interaction, Greek soulfulness without the "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" amplification, and golf. Rated: B- Oct 12, 2017 Full Review Simi Horwitz Film Journal International A totally implausible film[, ...] Swing Away is also a harmless entertainment with girl power themes for the pre-teen set.
