In this movie-length television pilot, former convict Pete Ryan (Robert Wagner) joins forces with retired Los Angeles police officer Frank MacBride (Eddie Albert) to start their own detective agency. Aided by their lovely receptionist, Maggie (Sharon Gless), the duo uses the same sneaky practices employed by scam artists to catch criminals. Their first big case finds the pair attempting to prove that the suspect in a recent jewel theft was framed and that the real culprit is still at large.
